Welcome to the home of Amateur Radio Station NT7S on the web. Living in a townhome with limited space can make your ham activities a little more difficult than average. However, it's my goal to have as much fun and learn as much as I can with the limited resources that available. With this theme in mind, the primary focus of my activities is on QRP and homebrewing.

I hope that by sharing my knowledge with the community, I will inspire others in similar situations to experiment and have fun with amateur radio. Take a look around, and with any luck you will find something that will be useful to you.

NA5N has generously provided the group with some excellent documentation on the qrp-l.org Group Project project, including a very extensive lab report and a set of annotated schematics. Take a look, it's well worth your time.

The first part of the qrp-l.org Group Project build documenation has been posted.

I've been playing nurse at home, so I haven't had a lot of time for projects lately, but I did manage to finish the article on my mods for the PAC-12 antenna.

I've added a sidebar with a list of interesting items found from the feeds that I peruse on Google Reader. Most of this stuff comes from ham or electronics blogs, but you might see the occasional deviation from this.

I finally got around to building something which I have been putting off for a long time, a 0-80 dB Step Attenuator. See the article for the circuit, construction details, and an analysis of the performance.

I just received word that the Tualatin won the Potluck Contest at the 2007 FDIM! As I pull together my documenation, I will be releasing full details about the rig on the website.

A few things changed when transitioning to the new server, so website code had to be updated. Now that has been completed and I finished my FDIM Potluck entry, I finally have time to work on the website again. Look for information on my Potluck entry soon. It's called the Tualatin, and it's a 40m superhet tranceiver with 5 W output.

The site has migrated to the new server and domain (nt7s.com). Work progresses on the FDIM Potluck contest. More to come soon.

I had the best of intentions, but obviously I didn't deliver the promised updates. School got in the way much more than I expected. Now that I have graduated, started my new job at Tektronix, and moved into my new home, I will have the time to devote to the website again. Once I get my new office/hamshack unpacked and setup, I will finish the documentation on the Santiam. I also have the challenge of trying to get a wire up in the air in this subdivision ruled by a strict HOA. I will be sure to document my struggles in that area as well.

At long last, Spring Break is here. And that means that I can finally devote some time to the website. Funny how writing multiple lab reports each week saps your will to maintain a personal website. I intend to make good on my promise to finish the write-up on the Santiam. I also have a few new homebrew projects in the works. Keep your eyes open for further updates soon.

Almost done with the RX portion of the Santiam transceiver. This time the AF filter article is complete. Also tweaked the code for the site navigation so that sub-levels are only displayed if selected.

No, I haven't forgotten about the Santiam transceiver. School kept me very busy and the project had to go on the back burner for a time. Now that it's Winter Break, I should be able to finish it. Also been working on QRPedia in my spare time. Please take a look if have not already done so.
